Pre-launch notice

Our waitlist is paused while we complete the remaining hosting review. You can contact us using the email below. The sections below describe the planned waitlist setup. Details still to be confirmed are labelled.

Who is responsible?

Halither Group is an interdisciplinary initiative in formation, based in the United Kingdom. We operate this website and are responsible for deciding how personal information collected through it is used (the data controller). You can contact us at the email below.

What we collect

When the waitlist opens, the form will ask for your name, email, social-science familiarity score, and selected learning topics. University, degree and a short additional topic are optional. We also record the submission time, your affirmative consent, the consent wording and the privacy notice version.

Please do not include health details, religious beliefs, political opinions or other sensitive personal information in the free-text field. Selecting a learning topic asks about a subject you want to explore, rather than your personal beliefs.

When you visit, the hosting service may process technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time in security and access logs. The form handler keeps only a keyed, hourly changing digest of an IP address for abuse prevention; those digests are used only in the current hourly window and removed after two hours by the next request or scheduled cleanup. It does not add your IP address to the waitlist.

Why we use it

We use waitlist details to register your interest, plan our first programme and send Halither emails about early sessions and workshops. This processing is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. The checkbox is empty by default; you decide whether to join. Providing information is voluntary and is not a statutory requirement or a paid contractual obligation. Name, email and the required programme questions are needed to join the waitlist; optional fields can be left blank. Browsing the site does not require joining.

We use limited technical and security records to keep the website reliable and prevent abuse, based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f). We balance that need against your privacy by restricting access and keeping the form’s abuse records short-lived. We do not sell your details, send unrelated marketing, or use automated decisions or profiling to evaluate you.

Hosting and access

This website is hosted by Hostinger. Authorised Halither organisers can access the waitlist to manage interest and the programme. Hostinger and its authorised service providers may process information to provide hosting, security and backups. We may disclose information if required by law.

Hosting location: To be confirmed before collection opens.

International transfers and safeguards: To be confirmed against the Hostinger plan, processing agreement and subprocessor arrangements before collection opens.

Access is limited to organisers who need the information for the purposes above. We do not share waitlist details for a separate future commercial service without a suitable lawful basis and notice.

We do not connect this website to a newsletter platform, analytics provider, advertising service or payment processor. If that changes, we will update this notice before using your information for a new purpose.

How long we keep it

The planned retention period for waitlist details and consent evidence is 365 days from submission, or less if you withdraw consent, request deletion or the waitlist closes. Expired entries are removed by scheduled cleanup and on new submissions. Anonymous programme summaries may be retained without identifying you.

Withdrawal and deletion requests are handled by Halither organisers, including removing copies from working exports. Limited information may need to be kept where the law requires it; if so, we will explain the reason and period. Backup copies are removed under the hosting backup schedule, and deleted entries must not be restored to an active list.

Hosting logs and backup schedule: To be confirmed before collection opens.

Your rights and choices

You can withdraw consent and stop Halither emails at any time. Email kacperbart@halither.com or reply “unsubscribe” to a Halither update. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. You do not need an account, and unsubscribing is free.

You may ask to access or correct your information, erase it, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy where applicable. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. We will normally respond to a rights request within one month. If a lawful extension is needed, we will tell you and explain why. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm your identity.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You may also contact the relevant data protection authority in your country. We welcome the chance to address a concern directly.

Cookies and changes

The website code does not set cookies or use local storage, session storage, advertising pixels or browser fingerprinting. Fonts, scripts, illustrations and logos are served with the website. See our cookie notice for details.

We may update this notice as the programme develops. Material changes to the use of your information will be explained before they take effect, with fresh consent where needed. This notice covers this website and waitlist; separate future activities may need their own notices.
